Originalmente, me deparei com essa pergunta em minha própria busca por uma implementação PHP das duas funções de hash de senha do MySQL. Não consegui encontrar nenhuma implementação, então adaptei o meu próprio código-fonte do MySQL (sql/password.c). Os seguintes são testados e funcionando no PHP 5.2:
