Agora que criamos um relacionamento entre duas tabelas, agora podemos usar ambas as tabelas em um único
SELECT instrução para retornar dados relacionados. Podemos fazer isso usando um JOIN demonstração. Consultaremos nossas tabelas usando os três principais tipos de junção:
- Junta interna
- União externa esquerda
- União cruzada
A União Interna
Uma junção interna é uma junção na qual os valores nas colunas que estão sendo unidas são comparados usando um operador de comparação. No padrão SQL, as junções internas podem ser especificadas em
FROM ou WHERE cláusula. Por exemplo, poderíamos executar uma consulta para recuperar uma lista de todos os artistas e seus álbuns:
SELECT ArtistName, AlbumName FROM Artists AS a INNER JOIN Albums AS b ON a.ArtistId = b.ArtistId ORDER BY ArtistName;

A junção externa esquerda
Uma junção externa retorna todas as linhas de pelo menos uma das tabelas ou visualizações mencionadas no
FROM cláusula, desde que essas linhas atendam a qualquer WHERE ou HAVING condições de busca. Com uma esquerda junção externa, todas as linhas são recuperadas da tabela à esquerda referenciada.
Portanto, no exemplo a seguir, todas as linhas de Artists table são retornados, independentemente de haver um registro relacionado nos Albums tabela.

A união cruzada
Uma junção cruzada (que não tem um
WHERE cláusula) resulta no produto cartesiano das tabelas envolvidas na junção. Portanto, o tamanho do conjunto de resultados é o número de linhas na primeira tabela multiplicado pelo número de linhas na segunda tabela. Tenha cuidado com a junção cruzada. Ele pode retornar conjuntos de resultados extremamente grandes!
