Após uma sessão de solução de problemas, descobrimos que a consulta estava sendo bloqueada porque outra conexão estava tentando atualizar um recurso relacionado (um registro em um arquivo
users
tabela com uma chave estrangeira de user_images_image
) para uma transação diferente no mesmo método, ambos aguardando seus resultados para confirmar. Ao usar a mesma conexão, acabamos com o comportamento correto.
Descobrimos isso usando a consulta de monitoramento de bloqueio dos documentos :
